Art Savvy: Tools of Engagement is a workshop series designed specifically for artists and entrepreneurs in the art industry. Sessions will focus on helping artists and entrepreneurs grow their businesses through improved techniques and strategies in networking, marketing and selling.

These workshops are designed and facilitated by local artist, entrepreneur and former Marketing Director at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, Nicki Hart. Nicki will share her tips from her 7 years of experience working with local art nonprofits, artists and clients from all over the world.

“Engagement among your network is extremely important when growing your business,” said Hart. “These workshops will show participants how to use tools such as the internet, traditional media or an in-person conversation to their advantage.”

We have all had it happen before. You are standing at a function, likely hiding in a far off corner avoiding the one person you should meet and make contact with. You are prepared. You made sure to pack an extra stack of business cards in your pocket just for this occasion. However, there is a problem. Your feet are cemented to the floor….what happens now?

For several reasons, networking is just like the first day of school. Some people make instant contacts and friends, and the rest of us would rather gargle glass then make the first step. The important thing to remember is that you are not alone and you can get better at networking. Through a little practice and preparation, you can master networking and easily approach new contacts and promote your biggest asset, YOU!

WHO WILL BENEFIT?
While the focus of Art Savvy is on building engagement between artists, gallery owners and potential buyers, many people will benefit including marketers and any small business owner. The techniques and tips we discuss are really no different for any business type and can be applied in a variety of situations. Whether you’re the artist looking to sell your artwork or the gallery wanting to learn how to approach and engage potential buyers, this workshop will give you the tools needed to succeed.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION?
Sessions are 90 minutes with time for discussion and questions.

IS THIS ONLY FOR NEWBIES?
Art Savvy is open to all levels. However, for you to get the most out your time, you should have a basic understanding of branding, social media and marketing, and are an established artist or business. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback so you need to come with something already in progress.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
Sit back, relax and prepare to not have to sit through a lecture of boring Powerpoint slides and sales pitches! These workshops are set in a unique coffee shop atmosphere because we want you to feel comfortable to chat about your business. We’ll give you feedback, offer exceptional tools to improve your engagement and more!

HOW MUCH DOES ART SAVVY COST AND HOW DO I PAY?
The fee to attend Art Savvy sessions is $20US and we accept payments online through Paypal. We also accept checks, cash and credit card prior to the event at the venue (5th and Main Espresso Bar). If you book all five sessions, you receive one free!

CAN I PAY AT THE DOOR?
We request all attendees to register in advance. This allows us to better plan the event and prepare the venue. We thank you for understanding and your prompt RSVP! Last minute door registration will be available for check, cash and credit card payments.

WHAT IF I CAN’T COME? WILL YOU OFFER RECORDINGS?
We understand that schedules get busy. We are proud to offer downloadable podcasts after each session for $10. You’ll get to enjoy all the content at your leisure. Attendees can also download a post session podcast for $5 so they can refer back to the content anytime. Podcasts will be available for purchase and download here 1-2 weeks after each session.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
Art Savvy is a lounge-style series that requires nothing more than yourself, questions, ideas and maybe something to jot down some notes.

WILL FOOD & DRINK BE AVAILABLE?
Light refreshments and snacks will be available at our sessions.

I’M A STUDENT, CAN I STILL ATTEND?
Yes! We have 5 student scholarships available. Simply send us a request along with a description about how these workshops will benefit your future artist or entrepreneur goals. We’ll pick 5 students to attend for free. Send your requests to nicki[at]multi-designs.com.

The 5th and Main Espresso Bar is located in the Historic Federal Building in Downtown Pueblo. Enjoy fresh espresso specialties, juice & green tea smoothies plus signature grilled paninis, house made soups & salads. We also serve fresh house made pastries. This unique downtown experience also features an ambient atmosphere to enjoy great conversation, food & drink or listen to local musicians.

We understand that everyone’s schedule can get a little busy. Therefore, we are excited to announce that podcast downloads will be available for $10 after each session. Listen to all the content, questions and discussion at your leisure. Attendees will have access to downloadable podcasts for a reduced rate of $5 per session.

FAQs & TERMS

What format are my downloads in?
All downloads are zipped (compressed) and emailed upon successful payment for download. Each audio podcast is formatted as an .MP3 file that can be played from any computer using a variety of programs from Windows Media Player to iTunes. You can also sync this MP3 with your iTunes or MP3 library and listen to the podcast from your MP3 player such as an iPhone, iPad, iPod or other generic MP3 device. All files are compatible with Mac or PC.

How big are the files?
Due to the length and quality of each podcast-around 2 hours-file sizes can be over 150MB.

The sound is soft in some areas, what can I do to improve it?
Since this is a live recording in a large room, there are some attendee questions that are difficult to hear. I do my best to repeat the question when I answer it. While each podcast is hand edited for maximum audio quality, due to the nature of the recording, it is impossible to have all audio levels equal. Please note that the audio quality loss is minimal and key information is easy to understand and hear.

What is your refund policy?
Since you receive a digital download of your podcast(s) immediately upon successful payment, refunds are not possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Can I share the file with someone else?
All files are copyrighted by Multi-Designs LLC and are for education purposes only. You may not sell, alter or redistribute the files you download.

What method of payment do you accept?
All orders are processed via Paypal. Major credit cards are accepted and you do not need a Paypal account to process your payment.

When will I receive my downloads?
All transactions are processed through Paypal and an email is sent immediately upon successful payment with a link to your downloadable .mp3 file. If you don’t receive the email please be sure to check your SPAM folder. If you haven’t received your email within 24 hours, please forward your receipt to nicki[at]multi-designs.com so that we may manually send your download to you.
